What started out as a small greenhouse project several years ago (after a knee replacement) has become a passion for learning. I've discovered new ways to use our existing space to create beauty and grow healthy vegetables without having to kneel or weed.

Every season brought a different experiment:
Container growing, Organic fertilizer from Red Wiggler Worm bins, HayBale vs StrawBale gardening (Hay won, in my opinion) Winter gardening in my greenhouse and now I have discovered Hydroponics! My Daughter and Grand-daughters have become my students and very helpful experiment partners.

In 2017 I decided to start a business doing what I loved and Furtado's Mulch & More became certified as a WBE (Woman Business Enterprise) in 2019. My business goal is to offer landscaping & gardening materials, workshops to share what I have learned, unique designs to make home gardening easier and beautiful and have fun along the way!
